As the end of the school year gets closer

We would like to shine a spotlight on our HBES Family members who will retire at the end of our school year. They have been a big part of our lives for many years and we will miss them so much.

Today our focus is on Mr. Pat Annecchiarico. Mr. A is currently a PE teacher with Mrs. Yarkey here at Harris Brook. Mr. A is always willing to lend a hand and is well loved by staff and students.

Life and Family

Mr. A is married to Mrs. Annecchiarico, a newly retired teacher from Baird Middle School. Mr. and Mrs. A met while Mr. A was student teaching at Chapin Street School in the early nineties. You may remember them working together at Veterans Park School back in the day. They have been married for 32 years and have two children. Their son, David and daughter, Julia have both graduated from Ludlow Public Schools.

Oh Canada!

Mr. A grew up in Toronto. He moved to the Chicopee area in 1993 and then to Ludlow in 2004. He is an avid sports fan and his favorite teams are the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Buffalo Bills.

Teaching Experience

Mr. A started his career with student teaching at Chapin Street School. He then went on to teach at Valley West. Veterans Park School and Harris Brook Elementary School. Mr. A has been a teacher in our community for 31 years! He taught third grade for 10 years before making the switch to the gym. He always wore a shirt and tie because he was always told if you dress for success, you’ll feel successful.

Mr. A.'s favorite PE activities are jump roping and scarf juggling. Mr. A. says, "Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces when they learn how to perform the techniques makes it so worth while!".

We will miss you Mr. A!

We send Mr. A off with love and well wishes. We are excited for Mr. and Mrs. Annecchiarico as they begin this new chapter of their lives. They are both very involved in the Ludlow Community. Mrs. Annecchiarico started the Second Time's a Charm dress shop and they are involved with For the Love of Good organization. As their retirement begins, they have plans to travel. I have a feeling we will still see their smiling faces from time to time. Best wishes Mr. and Mrs. Annecchiarico!
