Congratulations to our Fifth Grade Band!

🎵 A Message from Mr. Lyon, HBES Music Teacher 🎵

Last night, students in grades 5–12 came together for our annual Band Bash! This was a particularly special evening for our fifth-grade musicians, who performed in their very first concert after just seven weeks of learning their instruments. One student even joined us after only one week of playing and participated before officially beginning band class!

In the past, our elementary musicians were part of this concert, and I was excited to bring that tradition back when I joined HBES a few years ago. This experience gives our youngest musicians something to work toward early in their musical journey while allowing them to see and hear what they can aspire to achieve as they grow.

Our fifth graders did a wonderful job last night! Learning a new instrument takes time, dedication, and courage, especially when performing in front of an audience. I am incredibly proud of their hard work and progress.

A big thank-you to everyone who came out to support our musicians and celebrate their accomplishments. Your encouragement means so much to our students and music program! 🎶
