The Office of Curriculum and Instruction strives to provide districtwide leadership with a unified approach to the development and implementation of rigorous curriculum, programs, assessments, instructional resources, grading, and reporting.  It is our goal to prepare all students to learn without limits and to meet or exceed local, state, and federal assessment requirements.

District Curriculum Accommodation Plan (DCAP)

General Education Expectations and Accommodations

All students are provided with a curriculum that is aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and highly qualified, licensed teachers. Teachers use formative data from common assessments and universal screenings to identify students’ strengths and needs. Teachers use this information to adjust their strategies and provide accommodations in the general education setting for students so that they may better access the curriculum.

An accommodation, by definition, is a change in how a student may access information and demonstrate learning. An accommodation does not substantially change the instructional level, content, or performance criteria. The following is a collection of classroom accommodations that are commonly implemented throughout all grades. Accommodations should be tailored to meet students’ needs on an as needed basis and be specific to the content or situation. This list does not limit the accommodations that a teacher may implement to meet a student’s needs.

LPS DESE Report Cards

Annually, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) releases school and district report cards from each community across the state. These reports are intended to reflect a district's &/or school's current performance based on state assessment data. The 2023 District and School Report Cards were released in February of 2024 and published here as required by the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). All LPS families should have received personal notification from their child's schools on February 12, 2024.

The links below provide our community with access to the district and individual school report cards and family letters. It is also important to note that translated report cards and the family letter template are available by clicking on the link below.
